Learning my first song was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. The most difficult part for me is having to quickly move my fingers and remembering where to move them to.
When I first started learning the recorder, the very first step was to learn the notes. I picked up the instrument, and before even trying to play a tune, I focused on understanding where each note lived on the recorder.
Learning the notes first gave me a solid foundation, and it felt like building blocks for something bigger. Once I could play B, A, and G consistently, I knew I was ready to move on to actual songs.
